The Malaysia Cultural Cuisine Festival was launched in Parkson Living Hall South Asia Store
On November 28th, a grand feast of Malaysian culture and cuisine kicked off in Parkson Living Hall - South Asia Store at the First City of South Asian Style Shopping Mall. This cultural and food festival was meticulously planned and organized by the Consulate General of Malaysia in Kunming, Parkson Living Hall - South Asia Store, and the First City of South Asian Style Shopping Mall, aiming to promote cultural exchanges between China and Malaysia, enhance the friendship between the two peoples, and allow more people to appreciate the unique cultural charm and culinary customs of Malaysia.

The event site was filled with a rich Malaysian flavor. Traditional Malaysian architectural decorative elements and colorful decorations complemented each other, as if one were instantly transported to the bustling streets of Malaysia. Staff members dressed in traditional Malaysian costumes shuttled among the crowd, serving each guest enthusiastically, adding a brilliant touch to the food festival.

The official opening ceremony of the event was held at 10:30 am on Thursday, November 28th, at the square of the First City of South Asian Style Shopping Mall. The Consul General of Malaysia in Kunming, Muhammad Akmal, attended and delivered a speech. At the same time, Consul General Akmal invited Consul General Hua Sopara of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Kunming, Consul General Muhammad Khaled of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in Kunming, Consul General Pavivarn of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Kunming, Consul General Bandith Pasaphet of the Consulate General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Kunming, Consul General Tun Tun Lin of the Consulate General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Kunming, and Consul General Truong Thanh Thanh of the Consulate General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Kunming to attend the ceremony.
The guests attending the event also included: Deputy Director Ma Jun of the Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province, Second-Class Inspector Feng Ruiyi of the Foreign Affairs Office of Yunnan Province, Second-Class Inspector He Weihong of Kunming Customs, Minister Zhou Haixia of the Federation of Literary and Art Circles of Yunnan Province, Deputy General Manager Shi Haibo of China Eastern Airlines Yunnan Company, and leaders from foreign affairs offices of various prefectures.
Mr. Yang Wenyu, President of the Commercial Real Estate Division of Nuoshida Group, Ms. Li Yumei, General Manager of South Asia Business Management of Nuoshida Group, Mr. Ruan Liming, General Manager of Yunnan Region of Parkson Business Group, and Ms. Peng Yiliu, Deputy General Manager of Kunming Yunshunhe Commercial Co., Ltd. also attended the opening ceremony.

Consul General Akmal also personally prepared the traditional Malaysian dish lontong for everyone on the spot. From the fragrant Nonya cakes to the rich curry dishes, from the sweet but not greasy coconut milk rice to the crispy and tender satay kebabs, the numerous food stalls were dazzling. The freshly cooked delicacies emitted enticing aromas, attracting many diners to stop and taste. Many citizens said that they tasted the most authentic Malaysian flavors here and felt the unique charm of Malaysian food culture.

In addition to the food, the rich and colorful cultural performances were also a highlight of this food festival. The traditional Malaysian dances on the stage were passionate and unrestrained. The exquisite skills and lively performances of the dancers won rounds of warm applause from the audience; the traditional Malaysian music performances, with their melodious melodies and unique rhythms, intoxicated people.

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the 8-day Malaysian Cultural and Food Festival officially began.The successful holding of this Malaysian Cultural and Food Festival not only provided a great place for citizens to relax and have fun on the weekend but also served as a bridge for cultural exchanges between the two countries. Through the interaction and exchange of food and culture, the distance between the people of China and Malaysia has been further shortened, and the development of friendly relations between the two countries has been promoted. According to the organizers, as one of the series of activities for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, the Malaysian Cultural and Food Festival will continue from November 28th to December 5th.
