To all consumers

With regard to the incident that occurred at Nanchang Parkson Store on 8 October 2009, after serious investigation, we are of the view that Nanchang Parkson Store is responsible for this unfortunate event, which calls for an urgent improvement on the services and the management system of that store. We sincerely apologise for the inappropriate actions taken by Nanchang Parkson Store in dealing with this incident and also the social ramification arising therefrom.

We have taken immediate actions to rectify the situation, which includes directing Nanchang Parkson Store to take the necessary steps and actions to soothe the victim of this incident as well as instructing other stores throughout China to enhance their respective level of customer services and to learn from the mistake of Nanchang Parkson Store.

Since we first stepped into China, our corporate objective and belief are and will always be providing quality goods and services to all customers including those who are disable. All these years, we have been and are still very much committed in social and charitable works for we believe it is a true blessing to be able to help and care for those who are less fortunate. This can be seen from our relentless support to the Lifeline Express which aims to provide the relevant medical and financial assistance to those people from the poorest regions of China who is suffering from cataracts. We are committed to our corporate objective and belief and we will definitely continue to support the public welfare of disable people in China.
